You are certainly familiar with terms such as additive manufacturing or 3D printing. But are you also familiar with the various technologies that are hidden behind these terms? In the new arcoro SNAPS, we would like to give you information and background on selective laser sintering (SLS). This is a form of powder bed fusion process, which is a subcategory of 3D printing technologies. Powder bed fusion processes are characterized by a thermal energy source selecting individual powder particles in a defined area and causing them to melt, ultimately resulting in the production of a solid. In medical technology, laser sintering is often used for the production of small series or individual pieces of filigree and/or complex structures.
